Came to us, through our TV
To ask of us our help to forge
A sonic plate by which to gorge

A feast for ears & bones, of spells
& songs from these three Crones, as well
As stories from their travels wide
To Selcatnet, brim on each side.

That their message be well transcribed
Jackson took, carefully, his scythe –
Lathe, with head of diamond cutter –
Parted waves of wow and flutter.

Moon she waxed & moon she waned
‘til we heard from thee hags again
This time they asked for something strange –
An image which can rearrange

For to adorn the record’s sleeve
Then, they said, they’d take their leave
Of us, once we had realized
This object, seen by their third eyes.

We set to work & dallied little
With our four hands did we whittle
Away, so as to please thee Crones
Who speak through backwards telephones.

A month before their release day
A sudden storm, clouds darkest grey
We awoke to “the power's out” –
Our island faced an icy bout.

With storms come divine energies –
Ours tore the branches off the trees.
In the morn’ all over the ground
Wooden Tentacles did abound.

Do you believe in happenstance?
Or fate? Destiny? Or, by chance,
Do some things happen by design
In a world so often without rhyme.

This record is a living thing
Place the needle & let it sing
These oblong songs of times before
Times to come, the Now and more.
